Assumption 24" fancy
This 24-inch Assumption statue honors Our Lady of the Assumption, the Mother of God taken up body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life. Pope Pius XII solemnly defined the dogma on November 1, 1950, confirming what Christians had celebrated for centuries. Her halo of twelve stars recalls the woman of Revelation 12, clothed with the sun, and her feast on August 15 is one of the great holy days of the Church year.
Sized at 24 inches for a home altar, a parish office or a school prayer corner, it is a fitting centerpiece for August 15 celebrations, May crownings and parish groups named for the Assumption.
Our Lady of the Assumption includes the fancy decorative finish and the metal 12-star halo.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +++
