Assumption 48" with a base
This 48-inch Assumption statue shows the Blessed Virgin Mary taken up body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life. Believed and celebrated by Christians of East and West for centuries, the Assumption was solemnly defined as dogma by Pope Pius XII on November 1, 1950. The Solemnity of the Assumption on August 15 is a holy day of obligation in many countries, and the mystery gives the faithful hope that where the Mother has gone, her children are called to follow.
At 48 inches it suits a chapel, a side altar, a parish hall or a school named for the Assumption, and it can also stand in an outdoor grotto or Marian garden on parish grounds.
Comes with a base.
