Brother Peter 47"

This 47-inch Brother Peter statue honors St. Peter of St. Joseph de Betancur, the beloved Hermano Pedro, a Franciscan tertiary born on Tenerife in the Canary Islands in 1626 who spent his life among the poor of Antigua, Guatemala. He opened a hospital for poor convalescents, taught children to read and founded the Bethlehemite community. St. John Paul II canonized him in Guatemala in 2002, making him that country's first saint; his feast is April 25.

At 47 inches it suits a parish or hospital chapel, a side altar, a school named for him or a community hall, and it can also be placed in a courtyard or garden grotto for processions on his feast.
