Chalice 1
Of all the sacred vessels, none stands closer to the heart of the Mass than the chalice, and Chalice 1 is made to serve that holy purpose. At every Mass the priest pours wine and a little water into the chalice, and at the words of consecration it becomes the Precious Blood of Christ, the blood of the new and eternal covenant. With the paten, the chalice is set apart by a blessing before first use and reserved for the Eucharist alone.
