Chalice 8
The Chalice 8 is a Mass chalice for the altar, the sacred vessel that receives the wine which becomes the Precious Blood of Christ at the consecration. Its form goes back to the cup the Lord took at the Last Supper when He said, “This is the chalice of my Blood.” Because it is set apart for the Eucharist, a chalice is blessed before its first use and handled with reverence by the priest and by those who serve at the altar.
It serves a parish sacristy that needs an additional vessel for Sunday Mass, a new chapel, or a mission church, and it is a traditional gift for a priest's ordination or the anniversary of his priestly service.
