Chalice 9

Chalice 9 is a Mass chalice, the sacred cup that receives the wine which becomes the Precious Blood of Christ at the consecration. Ever since the Last Supper, when Our Lord took the cup and gave it to His disciples, the chalice has held a place of honor among the sacred vessels on the altar. Because it holds the Eucharist itself, the Church asks that it be made of worthy, durable material and blessed before its first use at Mass.

It serves the celebration of Mass in a parish church, chapel or oratory, and it is a traditional gift for a priest's ordination, a jubilee of priesthood or a memorial offered to the parish in a loved one's name.
