18" San Damiano Cross
This 18-inch San Damiano Cross follows the painted icon crucifix before which St. Francis of Assisi was praying when he heard Christ say, 'Francis, go and repair my house, which, as you see, is falling into ruin.' The original cross hung in the little church of San Damiano and is kept today in the Basilica of Santa Chiara in Assisi. It shows Christ serene and victorious upon the Cross, surrounded by witnesses of the Passion, and it remains the emblem of Franciscan life.
Sized for a home altar, a prayer corner or the wall above a bedside, it is a thoughtful gift for Confirmation, for a Secular Franciscan, or for a young person discerning how God is calling them to rebuild His Church.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand.
