Crucifix 24" St. Benedict

This 24-inch St. Benedict crucifix unites the image of Christ crucified with the devotion of the great father of Western monasticism. The St. Benedict crucifix traditionally incorporates the Benedict medal, whose Latin letters invoke the power of the Cross against evil: “Begone, Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities!” St. Benedict, whose Rule has shaped monastic life for some fifteen centuries, is patron of Europe and of a holy death, and his feast is July 11. Families keep this crucifix as a sign of protection.

Sized for the home, it hangs well near a front door, over a bed, or in a family prayer corner, and it is a fitting gift for a new home, a wedding, or a Confirmation. It can also mark a garden shrine.
