Embrace of St. Francis 134"

The Embrace of St. Francis is a monumental 134-inch statue whose title speaks of the love with which the Poor Man of Assisi embraced Christ: in the poor, in all creation, and above all on the Cross. Early in his conversion Francis kissed a leper he had once shunned, and in his Testament he wrote that what had seemed bitter was turned into sweetness. He bore the stigmata in 1224, and the Church keeps his feast on October 4.

At more than eleven feet, it is scaled for a church entrance, a monastery or retreat center, or the center of parish grounds, a school courtyard, or a cemetery.
