St. Juan Diego 12"
This 12-inch St. Juan Diego statue shows the humble Nahua visionary kneeling, as he knelt before Our Lady of Guadalupe on the hill of Tepeyac in December 1531. When the bishop asked for a sign, Mary had Juan Diego gather roses in his tilma, and when he opened the cloak before the bishop her image was imprinted upon it. Canonized by Pope St. John Paul II in 2002, he is remembered on December 9 as a model of simple, obedient trust.
Because he kneels, he sits naturally beside a Guadalupe image on a home altar, a parish Guadalupe display or a classroom prayer table, and he is a warm gift for the December 12 celebration of Our Lady.
Measures 12" from the bottom of the base to the top of his head. Because he is kneeling, he is a scale size of 16" (if he were standing). Pairs well with either our 16" or 18" Guadalupe.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand.
