Between 1594 and 1634, in the Conceptionist convent at Quito, Mother Mariana de Jesús Torres recorded a series of apparitions under the title Our Lady of Good Success. The statue made afterwards is said to have been finished by the archangels; the original still stands in Quito, holding the crozier of an abbess.
The devotion is known for what it foretold about the centuries that followed, and it has spread widely among families praying for the Church and for their children's faith. At twenty-six inches this is oratory and parish-shrine scale.
