Our Lady of Mercy 106"

This 106-inch Our Lady of Mercy statue honors Mary under the title Virgen de la Merced, also called Our Lady of Ransom. In 1218 St. Peter Nolasco founded the Mercedarian Order to ransom Christian captives, its friars vowing to give themselves in exchange for prisoners if needed. The Church keeps her feast on September 24, and the faithful turn to her for freedom from every kind of captivity, spiritual or physical.

At 106 inches it is a monumental figure for a church facade, a sanctuary, a plaza, or the entrance to parish grounds. It is also suited to a cemetery or a school courtyard dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy.
