Lady of the Smile 12"
This 12-inch Lady of the Smile statue recalls the image of the Virgin that smiled on a gravely ill ten-year-old Thérèse Martin, the future St. Thérèse of Lisieux, on Pentecost Sunday, May 13, 1883. Thérèse wrote that Our Lady's face was filled with ineffable kindness and tenderness, and she was healed at once. The Martin family's statue came to be called Our Lady of the Smile and now stands above the saint's shrine in the Carmel of Lisieux.
At 12 inches, it suits a child's bedroom, a home altar, or a hospital bedside, and it is a tender gift for a sick child, a new mother, a First Communion, or a devotee of the Little Flower.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand.
