Our Lady of Lourdes 17"
This 17-inch Our Lady of Lourdes statue recalls the eighteen apparitions of 1858 to St. Bernadette Soubirous in the grotto of Massabielle. The poor miller's daughter saw a beautiful Lady who asked for prayer and penance, uncovered a spring whose waters still draw the sick, and at last revealed her name: "I am the Immaculate Conception," four years after the dogma was defined. Her feast on February 11 is also the World Day of the Sick, and pilgrims seek her intercession for healing of body and soul.
Well sized for a home altar, a bedside table or a prayer corner, and a comforting gift for someone facing illness, recovering from surgery, or making a pilgrimage in spirit.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. ++++++
