Mother of Consolation 25"

This 25-inch Mother of Consolation statue honors Mary as Consolatrix Afflictorum, Comfort of the Afflicted, a title the Church prays in the Litany of Loreto. The Augustinian family has long spread this devotion, linked to the tradition of Mary consoling St. Monica, who wept and prayed for years for her son Augustine. Our Lady of Consolation is patroness of Luxembourg, and pilgrims seek her at the national shrine in Carey, Ohio. The grieving, the sick, and the worried turn to her for comfort.

It suits a chapel, a side altar, a hospital or hospice chapel, or a parish bereavement room, and it offers quiet consolation in an outdoor grotto or memorial garden.
