On July 16, 1251, Our Lady gave St. Simon Stock the brown scapular and a promise: whoever dies wearing it will not suffer eternal fire. Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the Virgin of that promise and the patroness of the Carmelite Order, whose hermits first honored her on the mountain where Elijah prayed. In the image she holds out the scapular, and the faithful wear it in return.
Ten inches is a nightstand and desk statue, sized for the bedroom of anyone enrolled in the scapular, and it is the usual gift at an enrollment, a Confirmation or a First Communion.
Made of a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and hand-painted by artisans, each statue finished individually.
