Our Lady of Sorrows, also known as the Mater Dolorosa, represents the deep suffering of Mary as she witnessed the Passion and death of her Son. This 50-inch figure is sculpted for a Calvary group, to stand at the foot of a crucifix as she stood on Golgotha, and devotion to her draws the faithful to reflect on her compassion and find strength in her faith.
At just over four feet it takes its place in a sanctuary Calvary, a cemetery, a church entrance or a Holy Week altar, and is a frequent memorial gift.
