A large-format Padre Pio scapular made from wool, each panel 5.5" x 5". Scapulars descend from the working apron of the monastic habit, and wearing one is a way of keeping a saint close to the heart. Padre Pio himself wore the Capuchin habit for over sixty years, and the faithful who wear his scapular ask for his prayers for healing, for perseverance in confession, and for peace of soul; his feast is September 23.
The scapular is worn under the clothing or kept at a bedside. It is given to the sick, to a new member of a Padre Pio prayer group, or to a Confirmation candidate who has taken his name.
