Pieta 53"

This 53-inch Pietà statue shows the Sorrowful Mother holding the body of her Son after He was taken down from the Cross, the subject Michelangelo made famous in St. Peter's Basilica. It meditates on the sixth of Mary's Seven Sorrows and on Simeon's words to her in the Temple, "a sword will pierce through your own soul also." The Church remembers Our Lady of Sorrows on September 15, and the Pietà has long consoled those who mourn.

It is a fitting memorial for a cemetery, mausoleum or funeral home chapel, and it is equally at home in a church sanctuary or at the entrance to parish grounds, where families can stop to pray for their dead.

Overall height is 53". The figures are 5' scale size.

Finish options: Monotone, Standard Full-Color, and Fancy Full-Color. Monotone and Standard Full-Color are offered for interior or exterior placement; Fancy Full-Color is offered for interior placement only. Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. ++++
