Pope John Paul II 138"

This 138-inch Pope John Paul II statue honors St. John Paul II, the Polish pope who led the Church from 1978 to 2005 and traveled to more than one hundred countries proclaiming, 'Be not afraid!' Born Karol Wojtyła in Wadowice in 1920, he lived through the Nazi occupation, studied for the priesthood in secret and as pope gave the Church the Theology of the Body, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and World Youth Day. Canonized in 2014, he is remembered on October 22.

A monumental figure of this height belongs at a church entrance, on the parish grounds, in a school or university courtyard, or in a cemetery or plaza, especially where a parish or school bears his name.
