Given through Marie-Julie Jahenny of La Fraudais in Brittany in 1878, the Purple Scapular carries the Pietà on one panel and the crown of thorns with the nails on the other. The promises attached to it are for the protection of the household — against storm, disaster, and violence entering a home.
This is the full display size, made to hang near the entrance of a house, though it may equally be worn or carried. The smaller wearable version is sold separately. Fiat originates this scapular; the copies you will find elsewhere are made from ours.
