Purple Scapular (The Scapular of Benediction and Protection)
The Purple Scapular, known as the Scapular of Benediction and Protection or the Scapular of Blessing and Protection, is a devotional sacramental worn over the shoulders as a sign of trust in God's care. Like other small scapulars, it consists of two cloth panels joined by cords, one resting on the chest and one on the back. Purple, the liturgical color of penance and preparation, fits its spirit of prayer, conversion, and reliance on divine protection in troubled times.
Worn daily beneath the clothing, the Purple Scapular suits anyone seeking protection for family and home. It makes a thoughtful gift for a prayer group, a Confirmation sponsor, or a loved one facing uncertainty.
Promises associated with this scapular are protection for the time of chastisements, calamities, and famine. Each panel measures 4.25" x 3.5". Comes with an explanation and prayers, available in English or Spanish. If you want the Spanish version, please specify it in the Notes when ordering. +++
