This Scapular of Our Lady of Sorrows is dedicated to the veneration of the Mother of God in her Seven Sorrows, from Simeon's prophecy to the burial of her Son. Devotion to the Sorrowful Mother was nurtured by the Servite Order, founded in Florence by seven holy men, and this scapular honors Mary's compassion at the foot of the Cross. Her memorial is kept on September 15, the day after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
