St. Anthony 33"

This 33-inch St. Anthony statue honors the Franciscan whom Pope Pius XII declared a Doctor of the Church in 1946, calling him the Evangelical Doctor for his mastery of Scripture. Entrusted by St. Francis himself with teaching theology to the friars, Anthony preached across Italy and France with such power that crowds filled the squares of Padua to hear him. He died there, still a young man, in 1231; his feast is June 13, and Tuesdays are traditionally devoted to him.

At 33 inches, he suits a parish chapel, a side altar or a Catholic school classroom, and he gives a Tuesday St. Anthony novena a devoted home. He can also stand in a grotto on church grounds.
