St. Augustine 20"

St. Augustine of Hippo, bishop and Doctor of the Church, is the subject of this 20-inch statue. Born in North Africa in 354, he wandered through ambition and error until the prayers of his mother, St. Monica, and the preaching of St. Ambrose brought him to Baptism in 387. His Confessions and The City of God have shaped Christian thought ever since. His feast is August 28, the day after St. Monica's, and he is patron of theologians, of brewers and of all who seek conversion.

Well sized for a home altar, a study or library shelf, a rectory office or an Augustinian school classroom, and a thoughtful gift for a priest, a teacher, a philosophy student or a mother praying for a wayward child.
