St. Benedict 49"

This 49-inch St. Benedict statue honors the father of Western monasticism, whose Rule has guided monks and nuns for nearly fifteen centuries. Born at Nursia around the year 480, Benedict founded the abbey of Monte Cassino and taught his sons to seek God through prayer, work and stability, summed up in the motto 'ora et labora.' His feast is July 11. Patron of Europe, of students and of the dying, he is invoked against temptation and evil, especially through the St. Benedict Medal and its prayer of exorcism.

At this height he suits a church sanctuary or entrance, an abbey or retreat house, or a Benedictine school courtyard. He also stands well outdoors on parish grounds, in a monastery garden or at a cemetery, keeping watch in prayer.

Finish options: Monotone and Standard Full-Color. Each finish is offered in an interior or an exterior version. Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +++
