St. Benedict Medal
The St. Benedict Medal bears one of the oldest and most honored sacramentals of the Church, carrying the image of St. Benedict of Nursia, father of Western monasticism. Its letters form ancient prayers of exorcism, including C.S.P.B. for "Cross of Holy Father Benedict" and V.R.S. N.S.M.V., "Begone Satan, suggest not vain things to me." The faithful rely on it for protection against evil and temptation, and St. Benedict's feast is July 11.
Catholics wear, carry, or display the St. Benedict Medal near a doorway, in a prayer corner, or in the home or workplace. It is a fitting gift for a new home, a Confirmation, or anyone seeking spiritual protection.
This is the St. Benedict Medal.
