St. Francis 48" with dove

This 48-inch St. Francis with Dove statue honors the poor man of Assisi who called every creature his brother and sister. Early biographers tell how Francis preached to the birds near Bevagna, urging them to praise their Creator, and his Canticle of the Creatures sings of Brother Sun and Sister Moon. The dove, the scriptural sign of peace and of the Holy Spirit, suits a saint who greeted everyone with 'The Lord give you peace.' His feast day is October 4.

At 48 inches, he suits a chapel, a side altar or a classroom, and he is a natural choice for a garden grotto, a school prayer garden or a parish memorial garden.
