St. Francis of Assisi statue, 59 inch, hand-painted resin

St. Francis 59"

This 59-inch St. Francis of Assisi statue presents the poor man of Assisi, the thirteenth-century friar who left his family's wealth behind to rebuild the Church through poverty, prayer, and preaching. Founder of the Franciscan family, he received the stigmata on Mount La Verna and composed the Canticle of the Creatures. His feast falls on October 4, when many parishes bless animals in his honor. He is patron of animals, ecology, and Italy, and the faithful ask his help to live simply and make peace.

At nearly five feet, St. Francis suits a church entrance, a school courtyard, a Franciscan retreat house, or the parish grounds where families gather for the blessing of animals. He also fits a cemetery or memorial garden as a quiet sign of peace.

Finish options: Monotone, Standard Full-Color, and Fancy Full-Color. Monotone and Standard Full-Color are offered for interior or exterior placement; Fancy Full-Color is offered for interior placement only. Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +++
