St. Francis de Sales 49"
This 49-inch St. Francis de Sales statue honors the gentle bishop of Geneva whose writings taught that holiness belongs to every state of life. Born in Savoy in 1567, he won back thousands in the Chablais by patient preaching and by pamphlets slipped under doors, then co-founded the Visitation Order with St. Jane Frances de Chantal. His Introduction to the Devout Life remains a spiritual classic. A Doctor of the Church, he is patron of writers, journalists and the deaf, and his feast is January 24.
At 49 inches it has the scale for a sanctuary, a church entrance, a Salesian or Oblate school, or a courtyard or garden on parish grounds, where students and parishioners meet the saint of gentleness.
Finish options: Monotone, Standard Full-Color, and Fancy Full-Color. Monotone and Standard Full-Color are offered for interior or exterior placement; Fancy Full-Color is offered for interior placement only. Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +++
