St. Kateri Tekakwitha 12"
This 12-inch St. Kateri Tekakwitha statue honors the first Native American saint, known as the 'Lily of the Mohawks.' Born in 1656 to a Mohawk father and a Christian Algonquin mother, Kateri survived smallpox, was baptized at twenty and moved to the Christian village of Kahnawake near Montreal, where she lived a life of prayer and penance until her death in 1680. Canonized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012, she represents faith, purity and devotion, and her feast in the United States is July 14.
This compact statue fits a home altar, a classroom or a church shrine, and it is a meaningful gift celebrating Native American heritage and Catholic faith, for Confirmation or for a young woman who takes her name.
The statue weighs 3 pounds.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +++
