St. Rose of Lima 33"

This 33-inch St. Rose of Lima statue honors the first canonized saint of the Americas, born in Lima, Peru, in 1586. Isabel Flores de Oliva was called Rose for her beauty, yet she chose a hidden life of prayer and penance as a Dominican tertiary, caring for the sick and poor from her family home. She died in 1617 at thirty-one and was canonized in 1671. Her feast is August 23, and she is patroness of Peru, Latin America and the Philippines, and of gardeners and florists.

At 33 inches it suits a chapel, a side altar, a Dominican school or a classroom, and it can grace a rose garden or grotto on parish grounds, especially at a parish or school that bears her name.
