This 24-inch by 16-inch Stations of the Cross set of 15 panels leads the faithful along the Way of the Cross, from Pilate's condemnation of Jesus to His burial in the tomb. The devotion grew from pilgrims retracing Christ's steps in Jerusalem and was spread throughout the Church by the Franciscans. A fifteenth station, the Resurrection, is often added so the journey ends in Easter hope. Parishes pray the Stations together especially on the Fridays of Lent.
Sized for the side walls of a church nave or chapel, the set also serves a retreat house, a school, or an outdoor prayer path or cemetery walkway where parishioners walk the Way of the Cross together.
