The Tabernacle 11 is a tabernacle for reserving the Most Blessed Sacrament, the Body of Christ kept after Mass for Communion to the sick and dying and for the adoration of the faithful. Its name recalls the tent of meeting where God dwelt among Israel in the desert. The Church asks that the tabernacle stand in a part of the church that is noble, prominent, and suited to prayer, with a lamp burning beside it to signal the Lord's presence.
