Tabernacle 17
The Tabernacle 17 is a tabernacle for reserving the Most Blessed Sacrament, the dwelling place of the Eucharistic Lord in a church or chapel. The Church asks that the Eucharist be kept in a tabernacle that is solid, immovable, not transparent, and locked, in a prominent and worthy place suited to prayer, with a lamp burning before it to honor Christ's presence. Before the tabernacle the faithful genuflect, make visits, and adore the Lord who remains with us always.
It serves a parish church, an adoration chapel, a convent, a hospital or school chapel, or a mission where the Blessed Sacrament will be reserved for the first time.
