Tabernacle 6
Tabernacle 6 is a tabernacle for reserving the Blessed Sacrament, the dwelling place of the Eucharistic Lord in a church or chapel. The word recalls the tent of meeting in the desert, where God dwelt among His people beside the Ark of the Covenant; now Christ Himself remains with us under the appearance of bread. The consecrated Hosts kept within are carried to the sick and homebound as Communion and Viaticum, and the faithful visit Him there in quiet prayer.
Suited to a parish church, a chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, a hospital, nursing home or prison chapel, a retreat house, or a religious community's chapel where the Eucharist is reserved.
