Virgin Mary child 16"
This 16-inch Virgin Mary as a child statue honors the young Mary, daughter of Sts. Joachim and Anne, preserved from sin from her conception to become the Mother of God. Tradition holds that her parents presented her in the Temple as a girl, a mystery the Church commemorates on November 21, while her birth is celebrated on September 8. The image invites children especially to see in Mary a friend who said yes to God from her earliest years.
At 16 inches it suits a child's bedroom, a home altar, or a religious education classroom. It is a tender gift for a girl's baptism or First Communion, or for a young girl named Mary.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand.
