Peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Mary carried that peace in her arms at Bethlehem, and the Church calls her its Queen: Regina Pacis, added to the Litany in 1917 as the trenches filled. Our Lady of Peace is the patroness of El Salvador, where her image came ashore in a crate in 1682, and her feast is kept there on November 21.
At 41 inches she stands in a garden, a grotto, a parish side chapel, a school courtyard or a veterans' memorial. Salvadoran parishes and families who have lost someone to war place her as a memorial.
