Virgin of the Clouds 16"
This 16-inch Virgin of the Clouds statue honors Our Lady under a title cherished in Quito, where tradition recounts that in 1696 the Blessed Virgin was seen in the clouds above the city as the faithful processed and prayed for their gravely ill bishop. Known in Spanish as la Virgen de las Nubes, she is honored as a sign that heaven hears the prayers of a people in distress. Her image recalls that the Mother of God is never far from her children, even when hidden behind the clouds.
At 16 inches, she fits a home altar, a bedroom shelf or a prayer corner, and she is a tender gift for someone praying for a sick loved one or a family keeping a treasured devotion alive.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand.
