In the Fancy finish, with gold detail worked into the robes. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart began at Issoudun in 1857, when Fr. Jules Chevalier entrusted his new congregation to Mary under that name and Pius IX blessed the title. She is the Mother who holds the Child forward so that his Heart is the first thing we see, and the archconfraternity in her honor has spread to every continent.
At 20 inches this Fancy-finish figure suits a home altar, a rectory chapel, a convent oratory or a parish office, where the gold reads well under lamplight. It is given for a wedding, a jubilee of profession, a priest's ordination or a family's enthronement.
