Assumption 12"
This 12-inch Assumption statue depicts Mary taken up body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life. Pope Pius XII solemnly defined the Assumption as dogma in 1950, confirming what Christians of East and West had long celebrated, the East under the name Dormition. On August 15 the Church rejoices that the Mother of God already shares fully in her Son's Resurrection, a pledge of our own.
At 12 inches it sits well on a home altar, a mantel, or a nightstand. It is a meaningful gift for a woman named Mary, a feast-day celebration, or the memorial of a loved one.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +
