Assumption 16"
This 16-inch Assumption statue depicts the Blessed Virgin Mary taken up body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life. Long celebrated in East and West, the Assumption was solemnly defined as dogma by Pope Pius XII on November 1, 1950. Its feast on August 15 is a holy day of obligation in many countries, and the mystery gives the faithful a sure sign of hope: where the Mother has gone, her children are called to follow.
It fits a home altar, a bedroom shelf, or a Marian prayer corner, and it is a thoughtful gift for a memorial, a feast-day celebration, a religious profession, or a woman named Asunción.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +++
