Assumption 24"

This 24-inch Assumption statue depicts the Blessed Virgin Mary taken up body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life. Pope Pius XII solemnly defined the dogma on November 1, 1950, in Munificentissimus Deus, and the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Assumption on August 15. The mystery gives the faithful hope in the resurrection of the body and confidence in Mary's care for them from heaven.

It is well sized for a home altar, a prayer corner, or a parish office shelf, and makes a fitting gift for a woman named Mary or Assunta, for Confirmation, or for a small garden shrine.
