Baby with Dress 8"
This 8-inch Baby with Dress statue presents the Infant Jesus clothed in a little gown, the tender way many Catholic families love to honor the Christ Child. In Hispanic households especially, the Niño Dios is laid in the manger on Christmas Eve, rocked and sung to, and then dressed in new clothes and presented at church on Candlemas, February 2, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. The custom echoes Mary wrapping her newborn Son in swaddling clothes at Bethlehem.
At 8 inches, it fits a Nativity set, a home altar or a Christmas mantel, and it is a sweet gift for a Baptism, a new baby or a godparent who will keep the Niño Dios tradition.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand.
