St. Juan Diego 31"
This 31-inch St. Juan Diego statue honors the humble Indigenous convert to whom Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared on the hill of Tepeyac in December 1531. When the bishop asked for a sign, Mary sent Juan Diego to gather roses in winter, and as he opened his tilma before the bishop, her image appeared on the cloth. St. John Paul II canonized him in 2002 as the first Indigenous saint of the Americas, and his feast is December 9.
It suits a chapel, a side altar, a classroom, or a parish hall, and it belongs in an outdoor Guadalupe grotto where families gather each December for her feast.
Finish options: Monotone, Standard Full-Color, and Fancy Full-Color. Monotone and Standard Full-Color are offered for interior or exterior placement; Fancy Full-Color is offered for interior placement only. Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +++
