Nuestra Señora de la Leche y Buen Parto, Our Lady of the Milk and Happy Delivery, is the Virgin nursing her Child, and her shrine at Mission Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine, Florida, is the oldest Marian shrine in the United States, kept by Spanish settlers since the early 1600s. Expectant mothers, nursing mothers and couples hoping for a child have gone to her ever since.
Eleven inches is a nightstand, nursery and hospital-room size. It is given at a baby shower, a Baptism and to a mother-to-be, and it sits in the room where a child is fed at night.
