Mt. Carmel 17"
This 17-inch Our Lady of Mount Carmel statue honors Mary as the Mother and Beauty of Carmel, patroness of the Carmelite Order that grew from hermits living on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land. According to Carmelite tradition, she gave the Brown Scapular to St. Simon Stock in 1251 as a pledge of her protection, and devotion under this title is closely tied to the scapular. Her feast is July 16, and all who wear the scapular are invited to live under her mantle.
At 17 inches, she fits a home altar, a bedroom shelf or a prayer corner, and she is a meaningful gift for a First Communion, a scapular enrollment or anyone joining the Lay Carmelites.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. +++
