Rosa Mystica 27" (Sorrows)
Mary as the Mystical Rose, in her sorrowful aspect, is the subject of this 27-inch Rosa Mystica statue. Rosa Mystica is an ancient invocation of the Litany of Loreto, and devotion under this name spread worldwide after reported visions to Pierina Gilli in Montichiari, Italy, beginning in 1947. In the earliest of those accounts Our Lady appeared grieving, her heart pierced by three swords, asking for prayer, sacrifice and penance. The Sorrows image invites the faithful to console her Heart and make reparation.
At 27 inches it suits a chapel, a side altar, a prayer room or a parish hall, and it can also be placed in a Marian grotto or rosary garden where the faithful gather to pray in reparation.
