Mater Dolorosa, thirty inches tall. Mary stands in mourning, her hands clasped and her eyes raised, the mother who watched the Passion from the road to Calvary to the burial. The seven sorrows the Church remembers with her begin with Simeon's prophecy and end at the tomb. Her feast is September 15.

Thirty inches is a garden or chapel statue: a cemetery niche, a funeral home, a grief-support room, a Holy Week altar, a convent oratory. It is a memorial gift for a family that has lost a child or a spouse.
