St. Benedict medallion 6"
This 6-inch St. Benedict medallion is a larger rendering of the medal long cherished by Catholics as a sacramental of protection against evil. St. Benedict of Nursia, who died around 547, wrote the Rule that shaped Western monasticism and is patron of Europe, with his feast on July 11. The traditional St. Benedict medal carries the words Vade retro Satana, Begone Satan, among its initials, and families have long kept it in their homes to ask his intercession against temptation and harm.
At 6 inches it suits a home altar, an entryway above the door or a desk, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a new home, a newlywed couple or an Oblate of St. Benedict.
Made from a lightweight, durable resin-fiberglass blend and painted by hand. ++++
