St. Dominick 24"

This 24-inch St. Dominic statue honors the founder of the Order of Preachers, a saint devoted to prayer, study and preaching the truth of the faith. Born in Castile around 1170, Dominic answered the Albigensian heresy with poverty, patience and preaching, and in 1216 won papal approval for his order. Tradition says his mother dreamed of a dog carrying a torch to set the world on fire, and the dog became his emblem. His feast is August 8, and he is closely linked to the spread of the Rosary.

Sized for a home prayer room, a study or a Dominican school classroom, and a fine gift for a teacher, a student, a preacher or a lay Dominican; it can also stand in a small garden shrine.

Stands 24 inches tall. Always comes with the dog.
